As we live our every breathe we don't know what is there in our destiny and when our fate changes. Even though there are many things which we can plan and move accordingly, but the future always remains unknown and at any point of time a packet of surprise may come and change your life or make your that very particular moment an unforgettable one.
Something unforgettable happened with me too during the winter vacation of 2012 that makes me remember the moment, has increased my faith in God and remembering which always a smile comes on my face.
It was vacation time, after I had completed my 4th semester of B.Tech I was home in Belgaum and my father was planning to visit our hometown since it was quite a long time that I visited that place and met my grandparents too. So according to the plan we booked our tickets and reached the Belgaum station on the date of start of our journey. To reach my hometown from Belgaum is quite a challenging job... :P since we have to change a lot of trains and other transportation modes.
And on the day of our journey we started. First train was from Belgaum to Miraj on we which we had quite a safe and comfortable journey. Our next train was from Miraj, my father had said we had enough time so we planned to have our dinner at the moment itself. As soon as our dinner was over something came to his mind and just to confirm the train timing he took out the tickets. And to our surprise the train was about to leave the station within few minutes. In a hurry he went to the inquiry counter to know on which platform the train was standing, the moment he went, the gentleman besides me told that the train was on the same platform- in front of us. I looked for my father and saw him coming pointing towards the train. I asked him if I should start putting luggage inside the train and started doing so. We had quite a few luggages, after I was done with half of them the train started moving slowly, simultaneously my father was also doing so and we were finally left with a backpack with me and an American tourister trolley bag with him. Since the train was just speeding up we decided that I would board the train first and then my dad. As I did so I slipped and fell on the platform, this caused quite chaos nearby since it could have been a life losing accident. The train kept on speeding and we ran with it shouting and asking people to pull the emergency chain in the train. But nobody did so and we were sadly watching our luggage go with the train. When we stopped, a man who was following us asked if he could help us. We explained him our condition and that if it would be possible to find an auto-rickshaw and catch the train at next station. Fortunately, the man himself was an auto-driver and said that he would make us reach there but that may charge more, to which my father agreed. I was scared that we might miss the train at the next station too, but without wasting time the driver brought his vehicle and soon we were on the Miraj roadways. I wanted to explore the beautiful place but that was a wrong time.
I was praying Ganpati that we should reach safe and catch the train. The driver was trying his best to drive safely in such a high speed. He also took some short-cut ways, went through uneven roads and in the process he was damaging some of his vehicle parts but he seemed fined with it and wholeheartedly wanted to help us.
Soon we reached the next station, ran, crossed railway-tracks heading towards the platform where the train was standing. Then we took a deep breathe, and then again started to search for the compartment where our luggage was, fortunately this didn't take much time and we also boarded on the train. In this whole process the auto-driver was with us, if he wanted he could have done his job of dropping us till the station and left us but NO he was with us till we boarded the train safely. It was only then that he took his charge. We thanked him a lot and thanked God for sending someone to help us.
This taught me a lesson that always be attentive and I came to know the importance of life. The moment I had, I could see death from so near. That moment made me realize how short life is and how short it can be. We need to live every moment, for us and for others.
This incident also increased my faith in God, whatever he does is good for us, many a times he makes things happen so that we may realise the importance of those specific things, time, love, money etc...
So just have faith in him and do your job.
